    Robert began his aviation career jumping out of perfectly good airplanes in 1978 and has since accumulated more than 3600 skydives.  His experience includes; 1300 instructional jumps, 1000 freefall camera jumps, 3 demonstration jumps and two 25,000 ft high altitude jumps.  He became a Skydiving Jumpmaster in 1998 and AFF Freefall Instructor in 1999.  At that time, he created Roberts Air to provide AFF skydiving instruction to the Southern California community. Roberts Air has since grown into Roberts Air Services offering a range of aviation services.  In 1997 he completed Physiological Training at Edwards AFB, in 2005 became a Freefall Videographer, then in 2006 a Flight-1 Canopy Coach. He graduated Parachute Riggers school in Boulder City NV and became an FAA Senior Parachute Rigger in 2006 specializing in pilot emergency parachutes. 

Robert has been a Private Pilot since 1998 accumulating more than 1300 hours PIC.  In his rookie year of Formula One air racing in 2004, Marshall finished sixth out of a field of 21 at the Reno Air Races and raced there again in 2007. He served as a Crew Member from 2000 to 2003, again in 2005, and was Crew Chief in 2010 and 2015.

Robert attended Miramar College in 2005 to become a Licensed A&P Mechanic and added his Inspection Authorization in 2013.  In the fall of 2023 he finished a 12-year project, building a plans built Acroduster SA750 biplane.
